Chefchaouen

Morocco tends to conjure up images such as the vast Sahara desert or the crowded and never ending souks of Marrakech filled with spices. What often doesn’t come to mind is the beautiful village of blue – Chefchaouen.

There isn’t necessarily anything to specifically ‘see’ here, the joy is just meandering, eating and browsing the shops of the old town. It’s pretty easy to get lost since it all looks quite similar but it was never too long before my friends and I found our way out again!

My favourite memory was when we went for a hike to overlook Chefchaouen. Coming across a graveyard high above the town, as my legs burned from the steep incline, when we reached the top of a hill with a church there was a group of teenagers there – just hanging out. One of them had an old portable radio that was blasting ‘Am I Wrong’ by Nico & Vinz at top volume. It was the most randomly awesome and unexpected moment and after having a little dance, I got to sit back catch my breathe and enjoy the view from above.

Photos speak louder than words I think on this one, so I hope you enjoy some of my snaps from Chefchaouen!
