Growing up in Perth, Australia means I’m naturally a little biased in my opinion of California as I feel it’s almost like the two are brothers in arms when it comes to the ‘best coast is west coast’ debate. There are many similarities between them both, including a culture built on sun, sand and a laid back attitude to life. I was fortunate enough to spend a few years of my childhood growing up in the East Bay area of California and therefore know firsthand what a uniquely diverse place it is. I mean where else can you ski in the winter, surf and swim in the summer, hike through forests filled with giant redwood trees in national parks such as Yosemite and also enjoy the man made wonder that is Disneyland next to some of the best shopping available in the USA?
