Recently in the media for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner which made a near vertical take off on a Vietnam Airlines plane, this made me reflect on the couple of internal flights I took with the company while in Vietnam.
One was from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang and the other Nha Trang to Da Nang.
There was a ATR 72-500 (or propeller plane) involved for one of them which made me quite nervous since I already fear flying to begin with – let alone smaller aircraft – but both flights were smooth journeys!
As a full service airline part of the Skyteam Alliance it certainly fairs much better than the budget options of Vietjet or Jetstar Asia, both of which also fly domestically.
I had no complaints at all with both flights- check in was quick and easy with baggage included, staff were friendly, the service was on time and we were even served a snack on board despite the journeys being less than an hour in duration.

Vietnam Airlines don’t fly from Perth directly to Vietnam but my friends flew with them from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City and said they had an enjoyable flight.
The airline has extensive services in Asia and also fly to Europe and North America.
