Where: The Stones Hotel
Verdict: This place has such a freaking awesome pool you can easily spend countless hours in it! There’s a swim up bar and the lounge chairs are actually in the water on a level before the pool begins.
It’s a fairly new, five star property and from the moment you walk in to the impressive reception area you can tell it is justifiably so.
The breakfast here had to be one of the best I’ve experienced anywhere. There was actually everything you could ever imagine including both comprehensive Asian and Western style dishes and a dedicated fresh juice bar – the perfect cure to the Indonesian humidity.
My stay here was work related and we were in the Deluxe Rooms. These had comfortable beds, were decently sized and had very modern and clean bathrooms.
However, if I was to stay here for a holiday I would recommend opting for a room type of Deluxe Pool or above as the view from the normal Deluxe rooms look out on to a small amount of greenery and feels like you could be anywhere, whereas the pool is quite unique and it’s pretty awesome to look out over. If you so wish there are even rooms with their own baths right on the balcony!
We arrived into Bali really late at night and just opted for room service which was rather good quality and delivered by the cutest man wearing a baseball cap who brought it all in a wearable delivery tray. There is also a spa and fitness centre on site. Wifi was available for free and worked well.
Location: It is literally across the street from the beach. The hotel is technically in the Legian area however really it’s borderline with the area of Kuta. There’s dining available on site otherwise it’s a very short and cheap taxi ride to Kuta where there is a large number of restaurants and shopping options available or the Seminyak area is another choice being approximately a 10 minute taxi ride. Traffic can be unpredictable though in Bali so it could always be longer!
Price: Starting from around 135 USD (158 AUD or 108 EUR) for a Deluxe Room. As it is Bali there are frequent stay/pay deals and offers depending on the season so if you keep an eye out the price could be less. This is also a Marriott owned property if you are part of their loyalty scheme.
